I'm your host, Cathering Answers Apologist and Speaker, Trent Horn.

Today I want to focus on the single question that I think is most helpful when it comes

to resolving the issue of transgender identity.

When I talk about other moral issues, I find it's important to focus the discussion on

a key question or a central question.

So take the issue of abortion, for example.

It would be easy to get sidetracked and talk about adoption and government programs to

provide for the poor and overpopulation, and I try very hard to not get sidetracked by

that.

Instead, I always bring the discussion back to one question, what are the unborn?

If the unborn are human beings, then abortion can't be justified.

If the unborn are not human beings, then abortion needs no justification.

Who cares?

I think that's also important when it comes to the issue of transgender identity.

It's easy to be distracted to talk about all of the ancillary issues surrounding it,

educating children, bathrooms, locker rooms.

Those issues are important, and we do need to be able to talk about them.

But it's easy to either get heated in these discussions or to worry about offending people

or being offensive to people and not speaking up at all.

So we need to be compassionate yet assertive.
