one of my best pals, Mikey, for her YouTube channel, Glaming Core. But between that series, which requires travel, my regular work, work travel, personal travel. It's just been absolute chaos, trying to find time to sit in record, but here I am. I'm happy to be able to do this.

I'm happy to be here, sitting, talking to you fools because that's what I love the most. I know all of the stuff you guys have been posting lately is so cool. Somebody made a Cult Leader cake. And I know a lot of people on Instagram do like these draw-loween challenges where they like draw for October and a lot of people have been drawing really cool.

But today we're talking about a story that I talked about like close to two years ago on Instagram. If you're new here, that's kind of where Cult Leader came from. I used to do Instagram stories, talking about different creepy stories.

So now I'm here and we're talking about it. And it is about a woman who went by many ennick name, the Giggling Granny, the Jolly Black Widow, and a personal favorite, the Lonely Hearts Killer, the one the only Nancy Hazel, aka Nanny Doss.

Now that's a lot of names. So throughout the episode, I'm just going to refer to her as Nanny because that's what she's primarily known as.

She was born on November 4th, 1905, Scorpio, in Blumountain, Alabama, to James and Louisa Hazel. We got any Blumountain, cold babes in here.

It was a pretty tight regimen in the Hazel home. Nanny and her four siblings were put to work on the family farm from a pretty young age.

The children were often kept home from school to tend to the needs of the farm, so they missed a lot of like the basics that you would learn.

None of them ever really learned how to read her, right? That well because you know, who needs it? Readings of Luxury Children, it's the 1900s.

And I know we've talked in the past about certain instances that can happen that can maybe predict your child will be a killer.

And one of the big things that we've always seen is head trauma. And on a family trip when Nanny was around seven years old, she was involved in an accident.

The family was traveling via train to meet some relatives when the train came to a certain halt.

Nanny was thrust forward and slammed her head on a metal bar that was attached to the seat in front of her.

And as a result of this incident, she went on to suffer horrible headaches, frequent bouts of depression, as well as occasional blackouts for the following years.

And murders. But you know, yeah, spoiler alert. Though her reading skills were not up to par for her age,

she enjoyed reading romantic magazines from her mom's collection. Her favorite was this bit they had that was called the Lonely Hearts column, where readers would write in their relationship woes or place ads looking for love.

Her imagination ran rampant as she read through the articles, but they stayed there in her imagination because Nanny, nor any of her sisters, were allowed to even talk to boys much less state them.

They had a lot of strict rules growing up. They were forbade from quote unquote dressing up, wearing makeup, and even from attending school dances.

Despite their father's strict guidelines, they, you know, did have to grow up kind of quickly. Nanny was unfortunately molested and sexually abused by several different men on numerous occasions because wow men are the worst and they always happen.
