hey everybody thanks for having me on Drew I had listened to the waypoint

podcast for a long time but finally got to meet you during

E3 when I was down there for giant bomb stuff and learned that you are, you not only share an interest in weird flying games and military games, but also in

Formula One. I wonder if there's something to do that that Venn diagram there.

Yeah, I think it might be an

unhealthy fascination with cool hardware irrespective of like what it

actually signifies but yeah formula one has been something that I've basically grown up with and

I've slowly tried to get all my friends into to varying degrees of success.

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I think I've had some people that just totally bounce off it, but like a lot of people do take to it, which is I think probably why, you know, this this podcast continues to grow and that we've stuck around doing it.

So how long have you been watching F1?

Probably since 1997 I want to say maybe 1998 okay so basically like what I can tell you is I just

missed the Senate era like I remember when you know Sunna was killed because I followed Indy car more during those days and so it

was like big enough news in the racing world that Suna's passing was sort of

worldwide news and I think that was what got my father curious about Formula One

because it was the first time we'd ever seen like international mourning for Motorsports

like Star like even when like Jim Clark passed in 70 69 maybe

67 I think was 67 even when he passed like it just wasn't the same sort of thing.

And so that got my father thinking, boy, there must be something to this Formula One thing.

Nigel Mansell had just come over, I think, to IndyCar around that time as well and so we just kind of wanted to see what open wheel racing was like in Europe which is where it was mostly centered back then but me, what got me into racing was,
