And I have four spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from the 9th of April 2025. And story number one comes from Chelsea. Every Christmas in Auckland, it is known that

the best place to go and see Santa is at Smith and Cahey's in the city. The building is old,

for New Zealand standards anyway, being built in 1880. It's a six-story department store that

sells luxury items, from clothing to makeup to kitchenware.

Unfortunately, the store, after 145 years, is set to reduce to just the ground floor sometime this year, as business has not been good in recent times.

But Santa's appearance has always been so popular, so it remains unknown what will

happen to this magical end of year visit to the store. Which is why, with the uncertainty of

whether we'd ever get to go again, we took our four children to see Santa at Smith and Cahy's last

December. It's not cheap, but it sure is magical and worth it for the memories it gives our kids.

The front of the department store has beautiful Christmas displays in the windows each year,

always to a different theme, with moving animatronics. You then go into the store, following the reindeer

hoof prints on the floor to the back of the building,
