matters. Now let's get to my conversation with Casey Francini. So Casey, I want to try to paint a

0:45.8

picture. Tell me if you agree with this. The people who are listening to this, many of them are

0:49.8

going to be, I'm working a full-time job. I'm super busy. I get home at the end of the day. Maybe I have a family I got to help take care of. Maybe, you know, there's caregiving. I also have activities. The theme is like, I want to do real estate, but I am super, super busy. Like time is tight. Money is tight. And you're also afraid of making a mistake. So that's the predicament. A lot of real estate investors who want to get in this game. That's where they are. And I thought it would be perfect segue, because you've been at the same place. You know, you've had that position of being there. Can you tell a little bit about your story and how you actually got into real estate investing and kind of had that similar situation in your own life? Sure. So, I mean, that's a really good question. I think a lot of people want to invest in real estate, ideally because they want passive income. They don't want to be, you know, a slave to the man and work every single day, 40, 50, 60 hours a week for the rest of their life as the retirement age climbs higher and higher and higher. So people are looking for a way out, alternative sources of income, starting a site, hustle

something like that.

1:49.2

And if you're interested in all in real estate, you're going to see real estate inundated

1:53.3

on your social media feed and it sparks ideas.

1:56.2

Well, for me, I didn't get any of that because I started in real estate when Facebook was a baby. And, you know, the Facebook post would say, how are you feeling today? And you would put in an emoji. I feel happy. Do you remember that? I feel sad. So I didn't get what everyone gets right now with all the options for real estate. It's so overwhelming. But when I started out, it was, oh my gosh, 18 years ago or so.

2:20.5

I mean, a long time ago, I lived in California. I went to school. I did all the right things.

2:24.9

I got my college degree. And I remember sitting in my car driving to, it was in Orange County.

2:31.0

I lived in Orange County, actually Inlet Empire at the time. And I would drive, I've got an hour and a half to work to Newport Beach. And I would have to wake up in the dark, drive in traffic, leave, drive home an hour and a half in traffic, get home in the dark. Imagine leaving the dark, get home in the dark. And I said, is this what I worked my entire life for? Like,

2:51.2

I went to school. I got good grades. I was in leadership. I was in sorority. And I did all these

2:55.8

positions and I worked really hard so that I could leave in the dark and come home in the dark

3:02.3

for the rest of my life. Like it gives me the chills. It was just such an eye-opening experience.

3:28.0

And that job lasted three months, Chad, seriously. That was the only real job I ever had. That was going to give me benefits. A three-month, three-month job. And I said, okay, well, that's stupid. So what am I going to do with my life? I said, well, I want to do real estate. My dad always said, Casey, you have to, you know, don't go with the herd, follow a different path. And he would use the example of the freeway.

3:41.0

If everyone, I want to do real estate. My dad always said, Casey, you have to, you know, don't go with the herd, follow a different path. And he would use the example of the freeway. If anyone's been to California on the freeway, you see a stopped lane of traffic going in one direction towards L.A. or whatever the big city is.
