Hello and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories Podcast. I'm your host John DeLin. I'm back in the podcasting saddle. Now that my dissertation is successfully defended and my internship is all set.

I'm excited to have with us today several wonderful ladies who are all representing ordained women. We've interviewed ladies from the ordained women movement in the past but it's sort of been a year since ordained women was launched.

And there's another event coming up and because here at Mormon Stories we're staunch allies of women and of Mormon feminists. We are so thrilled to have them back. We can't get enough of Mormon feminists on Mormon Stories Podcast.

1:18.0

So with that I believe that everyone here is a first time guest on Mormon Stories but you guys can correct me. I'm going to start by introducing Nadine Hansen. She deserves much reverence and awe. She is an attorney. I believe she's an attorney that deals with polygamy and Southern Utah. Is that right Nadine?

1:42.0

Well, yeah, kind of. I'm the way I got involved in dealing with polygamous issues is that I'm a court appointed guardian ad lightem which means that I represent children in in various kinds of situations but specifically in custody disputes. And I've had a couple of cases in which F LDS children were involved.

2:08.0

Got it. Well, that's really cool. It says here that you live in Cedar City. I added that you are the mother of Laura Compton which is always important to mention.

2:20.0

One of my claims to fame is being the mother-in-law of Todd Compton and the mother of Laura Compton because they're both really awesome people.

2:30.0

Since this is a feminist oriented episode, I'm certainly not going to introduce you as the mother-in-law of Todd Compton. I don't think that's going to go over well.

2:40.0

Well, well, Todd is a wonderful feminist also. So I'm happy to claim him.

2:46.0

Okay. All right. Okay. Hi, Todd. Okay. In addition, Nadine has three wonderful other children besides Laura. She's a grandma. She is a feminist activist.

2:58.0

And I asked her to allow me to include the fact that in 1980 she published a dialogue in article arguing for pre-stead within, pre-stead for women within Mormonism.

3:12.0

So Nadine, you're sort of a grandmother of Mormon feminism if you don't mind me saying so. So welcome to Mormon Stories.

3:20.0

Thank you. Was that a long enough introduction? I think that was plenty.

3:24.0

Okay. In addition, we have Katie Hyde. Katie is a university student at the U of U, right? Katie? That's right.

3:32.0

And she actually recently embraced her Mormon feminism. So she's a recent convert as we as we joked about. She attended the Ordin Women event in October. And she's happy to be with us. So we're happy to have you, Katie.

3:48.0

Thank you very much, John.

3:50.0

Kimberly Breaker-Hoff is a publicist. She lives in North Carolina. She has three children and two step children. So she lives in a Brady Bunch model of a family.

4:02.0

She handles public relations for ordained women and also for the where pants to church day event. And she's generally awesome. So Kimberly, welcome to Mormon Stories.

4:12.0

Thank you.
