Hello and welcome to another episode of the Mark Groves podcast. I am very interested in exploring

0:08.4

our breath and our relationship to breath. I've had this guest on before speaking about it and I wanted

0:14.9

to have her back on and I have another guest coming up where we explore it from a different lens,

0:19.9

which I'm really excited for.

0:21.7

Because one thing I've discovered about breath is that you experience these almost psychedelic

0:27.9

journeys when you're in a deep breathwork ceremony. I didn't think these things were actually

0:32.5

possible when you're like if someone had said you're going to breathe a lot and then you're going to feel high

0:38.8

and you're going to be able to go to the depths of your psyche. Are you kidding me? And the correlation

0:45.5

to being able to regulate ourselves more like one of the fastest ways to tap into getting the

0:51.7

nervous system back into regulation is learning how to breathe in a way that

0:56.0

signals to your nervous system that you're safe or that you need access to your brain.

1:01.1

Because let's be honest, in the middle of a conflict, your brain goes right out the window

1:05.4

in the middle of any form of trigger or dysregulation.

1:09.4

It's like by critical thinking, by plan I had. So just

1:13.9

understanding this stuff on a different level is going to change your relationships, of course,

1:18.4

but it's going to change your life. It's going to allow you to have more autonomy or sovereignty,

1:23.8

maybe both those words, about how you feel and how your triggers show up in your

1:30.1

life, that you're able to manage them, that instead of reacting through the power of breath,

1:36.0

you get to be with your body, you get to change your physiology, your blood chemistry.

1:41.2

But more important than all of that, you get to decide who you are in

1:45.9

every moment. So I'm pumped for you to hear today's episode because we get practical tools

1:52.3

to be able to apply into your life right away. So before we dive in, wherever you're listening
