0:01.9 | How are you? |
0:02.7 | I am tired, but thankful that we get to do this today. Amen, brother. I could not agree more with both those statements. I often will start the podcast. We always were like, hey, do you have anything to start with? And then you say, what did you just say? Because I didn't understand what that was. And I'll say, did you have, do you have anything to start with? And one of us will have a fun, you know, a quip, hilarious hijinks. Hilarious hijinks is one of our favorites. Maybe a nice anecdote. This time. Quirky observation. Quirky observation. This one's a quirky observation. Quarky observation. Okay. But it's a little bit of a conversation starter on the quirky observation. |
0:36.6 | And if you're new around here, this isn't the norm. Do not get used to quirky observations. No, no, no, no, no. It's normally hilarious hijinks. This is, we're doing, we're doing something called quirky July. And if you're not new around here, don't touch that dial. you won't believe who's our producer today. |
0:56.4 | So are you ready for my quirky office? new around here, don't touch that dial. You won't believe who's our producer today. So, |
1:03.7 | are you ready for my quirky observation? QO. Go. Well, the quirky observation is more of a conversation starter. Is there anything that you should absolutely throw away that you have a hard |
1:08.0 | time throwing away? iPhone box. Okay, good. Here's what I noticed in my shop today. This is a good question. There's a million things out there. And then you're going to notice them more and more now that we've had this quirky observation. Yeah, I'm already thinking it's so many. I'm in my wood shop. I'm doing work and I look over at my area where I have all my stains and my paints, which honestly, |
1:28.0 | that all could get probably thrown away. There's half those things I'm never going to use |
1:31.3 | because they're like rusted out. But then there's also a probably three quarter, three quarter full |
1:36.9 | bottle of motor oil. What if? What if? But also like that was from my old my old truck that, like, needed it. And, like... Needed it regularly. Like, needed to have it. Yeah. Like, if my new truck has problems, I'm just taking it to the dealership or, like... You're not DIYing motor. I'm not going to... I'm not DIYing a 2021 car. Like, that just seems like you're just too liable at that point. But it's like I can't throw it away because that was probably I mean, that's good oil. $18 for that oil. Somebody might need it. Yeah, but there's going to waltz into the wood shop and be like, hey, got any motor oil? Got any ammo? Yeah. I think a lot of mine are, I mean, I could justify anything of like, I mean, we might need it. Like the iPhone, MacBook have moved on. Everything's USBC. Oh. But I'm like, I still hang on to those lightning adapters. I would love all your lightning adapters. What if you'd ever throw them away? Because I'm still in that regard. Yeah, like they're completely obsolete in my life, but like every time I'm looking for an iPhone charger, |
2:18.4 | I find those. |
2:19.1 | But I don't throw them away because I'm still in that regard. Yeah, like they're completely obsolete in my life, but like every time I'm looking for an iPhone charger, I find those. But I don't throw them away. In my frustration, I think, oh, that's not the right one. Put it back in the drawer. We might need it later. It feels really weird to me to throw away shoes. Dude. It's like a nice solid piece of shit. They're not even solid. They're like gross now, but still it's like, this like has a structure to it. |
2:35.6 | This has weight. shoes. Dude. It's like a nice solid piece of shit. They're not even solid. They're like gross now, |
2:51.8 | but still it's like this like has a structure to it. This has weight to it. Great answer, dude. And where do you throw them in your trash in your kitchen? That feels so weird to throw away shoes. But also like do you take them to goodwill and they're like, I don't want your garbage shoes? These smell awful. |
2:47.6 | You've weeded in these for 10 years. |
2:49.7 | Where do you throw away shoes and feel good about it? |
2:52.2 | Dude, no joke. |
2:53.5 | There's there's so I have my hookup. My cousin is New Balance, you know, employee. And so we get huge discounts. So every year at Christmas time, I go nuts on New Balance. Yeah. And there's been a few times where I'm like, I didn't ever wear those, like, but I'm not throwing them away. |
3:24.7 | I got to. |
3:25.2 | So I have like four pairs of shoes in my garage of like, if I ever need like, if I'm desperate for shoes, I'll use these shoes for mowing the lawn. Never have I ever taken them out of there. Never gotten to that. I've been felt that. I mean, the closet in here is like old, just like pickleball paddles, maybe prototypes, |
3:25.9 | or maybe just like first generation paddles maybe prototypes or maybe just like first |
