0:09.0	And we have watched, really since the 1980s as conservatives, Christians, pro-lifers, Catholics
0:18.2	have tried to team together with the Catholic bishops of United States of America in the political realm.
0:26.3	And to be honest, I think I speak for most of us when we say that it's been a bit of a disappointment. It's true that our bishops will come to a pro-life dinner.
0:37.0	It's true that they are vocally pro-life, but when it comes to being courageous, when it comes to really being out there, I think after
0:46.0	a few decades now, 80s, 90s, aunts, teens, we are a little bit disappointed.
0:53.0	Also, there's an open wound in our souls,
0:56.0	and that open wound happened in the early 2000s
0:59.0	with all the sexual predators and pedophiles that were revealed to be in the
1:05.1	priesthood all the scandals that were opened up through the Boston
1:09.3	investigations the spotlight investigations but that was all torn open again. The wound was never healed. It was torn
1:16.4	open again in the summer of shame 2018 when the whole world learned that Ex-cardinal Theodore McCarick was a pedophile, a predator, an embezzler,
1:29.4	and one of the most rotten men in the Catholic Church, a true Judas priest. And since 2018, we Catholic lay people
1:39.3	and those outside the Catholic Church have watched as nothing has been done.
1:46.1	There was a call for a report, we're supposed to be getting it any day now,
1:49.9	and here we are almost two years later, nothing from the United States Conference of Bishops.
1:57.4	In fact, I covered it on this channel.
2:00.4	The Conference of Bishops voted not to pursue the investigation on Theodore McCarick.
2:08.3	Now what this has done since 2018 is we've seen a major shift in the Catholic Church. Slowly there's been
2:16.8	an erosion of confidence amongst Catholic Lady towards their Bishop. So much so I hate to even say it. But for some people even the word
2:26.7	Bishop has become a pejorative in a slower and that shouldn't be. Our bishops we should honor them, we should respect them, we
