Welcome back, everybody to The Incomparable. I am your host, Jason Snell.

On this episode, we're going to be talking about comics and also about Spider-Man

and also about, in an oblique way, the Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse animated film from last

year, because in the wake of that very excellent film, I thought it might be interesting

to read some of the comics that kind of inspired the characters and some of the premise of the film.

And so I assigned some homework.

I assigned a couple of short runs of comics to my guests, the Edge of Spider-Verse miniseries, which

among other things introduced Gwen Stacy, the Spider-woman slash ghost spider-slider-gwin,

and also a series of issues from the Amazing Spider-Man comic from the 2014 edition featuring the Spider-Verse event proper.

There were also like a million other Spider-Verse tie-in comics that I did not assign

that were entirely optional.

Let me introduce the people who took up the challenge of reading some comics.
