We're always advocating for public-private partnerships on this show, and boy, do we have a movie that offers a model.

But before we get to that, it's come to our attention that we've had a lot of new listeners over the years.

We're not at our humble

beginnings anymore. I think it's probably hard to break into a new social group, which is what this

podcast is. We are, we are your new parisocial friends. We're an exclusive club. That's right.

So we thought it might be a good time to just kind of reintroduce ourselves. Explain the concept

of the show,

because this is a big movie, folks. We might have people listening who haven't listened before.

This is the political movie of the year. I don't think that's an overstatement, right?

I mean, you could say Oppenheimer is bigger, but...

It's maybe a little bigger, Barbie. look what will said is true the growth of this

podcast over the past couple of years has definitely exceeded our expectations and we've gotten

so into the groove of doing it that you know we forget about the exposition there's a lot of

people who find the show just kind of in the wild now, which, you know, never used to happen before.

There's many of you who will be listening on the Jacobin feed. And, you know, you're used to hearing

Dan Denver's, you know, brilliant interviews. You're used to hearing long reads. You listen to behind

the news, whatever. And you don't know who the hell we are. And're like what what is this show michael and us why is the why is the show called michael and us is one of these guys michael like what's going on yeah we

probably should have changed the name like five years ago but i think it's a little late now there's
