I tell you when I was a 17 year old kid sneaking into Maxwell's in Hoboken to watch this guy with

Hoosker do I never thought that all these years later we'd be closing in on

almost a dozen solo albums from the guy. Yeah Jim and he's with another great trio

and we mentioned Huskerdu now he's playing with John Worcester of Superchunk on drums and

Jason Narducci on bass I just saw him the other night.

That is a classic drifter's song up on the Roof. It was co-written by Jerry Goffin, dead at the age of 75 in Los Angeles a few days ago.

His co-songwriter was Carol King, to whom he was married.

They met in 1958 in New York City, one of the great American songwriting teams of the last half century,

Goughin and King.
