Welcome to Crawlspace. In this episode, Tim Pilleri & Lance Reenstierna are joined by good friend and colleague, Bill Thomas. Bill, along with Kristin Dilley, hosts the excellent podcast, Mind Over Murder. Bill is the brother of Cathleen Thomas who, along with her girlfriend Rebecca Ann Dowski, were the first victims of the serial killer that terrorized couples in the region of the Colonial Parkway in Virginia between 1986 and 1989. In January of 2024, a man named Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. was named as the prime suspect in connection to the murders of David Knobling and Robin Edwards, Teresa Lynn Howell and Cassandra Hailey and Richard Call. 1:30.9	because he is the brother of Kathy Thomas who was murdered as a part of
1:35.2	the colonial parkway murders and there was recently some news in the colonial
1:40.4	parkway murders it's actually a lot of news, a lot to suss out if you're
1:46.3	the brother of one of the murder victims in this case. And that news you speak of
1:50.8	is the release of a man named Alan Wade Wilmer Sr.
1:55.9	He was named as the prime suspect in connection to the murders of David Nobling and Robin
2:01.1	Edwards through DNA. and you would think that this is something that is
2:07.4	universally good news for Bill and the families of these two as well as the families of the other Parkway
2:14.7	murder victims but as Bill will explain there's a whole lot of politicking and
2:19.2	red tape paper cover-ups that happened throughout this investigation, so while it is good news, it comes with
2:25.8	this additional caveat of why did it take this long and how did this guy even get on the radar
2:31.7	and why was he not served any form of justice prior to this?
2:36.2	Yeah, all great questions and Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. died in 2017 at the age of 63 but the FBI is asking for your help if you have any
