I'm going to be doing one of the first Wednesday streams slash podcast are going to be completely best ball oriented.

You're going to use the FFPC platform shout out to all the fine gents and ladies over there making that happen. And then I will be sprinkling in some Friday guest edition episodes.

We're going to have the one the only the Twitter famous jetpack out of Leo on this Friday talk through his wide receiver model and start to get back into some of these college prospects.

First and foremost though, let's focus on the present today going to be looking at a bunch of draft capital goodness and some players that Mr. McFarland thinks are a little bit too high or a little bit too low right now in the best ball streets.

Before you get that though did want to just apologize for some of the audio issues we had. I believe on the wide receiver rankings edition.

You know this is episode 441 to 442 of the podcast we have had a couple glitches from time to time. But like we did then very quickly to get those figured out I know it's cannot be nice to hear my heavy ass breathing or dwayne you know talking to silently in your headphones.

We appreciate you guys always taking all the hours out of the time out of your day and we want to make that audio experience as good as possible. So please any sort of future occurrences any minute detail whatever it is good bad whatever feel free to be on Twitter because you know without you guys.

A lot of these problems will not be surface quickly enough and again want to have the best product overall so with all that said dwayne how's it going man we I feel like we kind of had a nice marathon at the end of last week we got the refresh over the weekend here we are on Tuesday ready to get back to business usual.

Yeah and last week we had every day right now we didn't do one Monday but we did we did a part every day but no man i'm super excited like now we get to kind of take a lot of the stuff that we talked about last week with tears the rankings and start like let's start applying things I'm a person that learns when I apply things and like I do good like reading fine I'll learn a little bit.

You know I can listen to someone learn a little bit like where I think we really and we talk about this little bit last week but like once we start like applying it like in theory and how we're going to make it work and then we start drafting which we're going to do this Wednesday night like that's really where I think all of our you know takes start meeting you know resistance or.

We really feel like they fit like is this something where we think we got to go back and rethink things or do we really feel good about where we've got someone rank so i'm super excited and I think this week really kicks off that kind of work.

If you thought the know of fan time and debate was heated I can only imagine what things are going to be like when we got actual money on the line o clock to speed up that decision making as I said in the intro today's topics are going to be draft capital and kind of what we can learn from that in regards to mostly rookie year production but even beyond that as well as some top best ball targets.

And so let's start things off with draft capital have an article up on pff calm about this topic if you guys want to look we've talked a little bit you know throughout the off season about the importance of you know players going into early rounds but now that everyone has had you know February March now we're going to April more mock jazz more prospects more time we're no actual football is being played so of course what do we do we just obsessed over you know some of these prospects are going to be entering the league soon enough and I hate to be the bearer bad news.

Everyone but there's a good chance if your favorite prospect is not drafted in the first three maybe even the first two rounds they're not going to do much ahead of next season specifically.

So I have on the screen share right now is showing the total number of rookie top 12 quarterbacks tight ends and top 24 running backs and wide receivers over the past 10 years and my god man only one quarterback drafted outside the top three rounds that was that press got obviously need to turn your own injury to get out there Russell Wilson was the only non first round quarterback credit to him from beating out you know to bear Jackson and Matt Flynn and just that incredibly tough quarterback competition running backs we've only seen five total players will get to an

minute achieve that year one excellence without being drafted in the top three rounds now and frequently we've seen the same number of first and second round running backs meet this criteria so I'm not sure there's a huge difference in terms of hey you know this guy got picked you know number 28 versus number 45 we've seen the same number of qualifiers from there but once we get out of the top three rounds again just becomes awfully difficult not that they're on useful players out there Elijah Mitchell with some good health would have hit that you know micro Carter was fine even though he didn't exactly finish the top 24 player.

But for shooting for the moon should probably be shooting on top three round picks even more so at wide receiver where we've only seen let's see a monro a St Brown last year I think we could all kind of see that the plate deaf chart potentially yielding a high performing rookie and Tyree kill was a fifth round pick dude was off the field issues no way he would have been a non day to player selected in the draft without those and can I was the only third round wide receiver man so wide receivers actually been limited the one and two rounds as opposed to even the round that we're going to see the first round of the first round of the season.

So just to even the round number three and then tight end as a whole we can almost completely write them off over the last 10 years only Evan Ingram and Kyle Pits have been top 12 fantasy tight ends as a rookie even those guys man Evan Ingram benefitted from OBJ playing four games that season and last year obviously Calvin Ridley only finished with five games so quarterback running back wide receiver tight end alike.

If there is a situation where you know we have a talented player almost like the Michael Carter kind of thing last year where we think it's a talent to player is a high fourth round pick you listen to right spot.

For the right price I'm not against it again we don't hit anyone we just say 80 piece with that said we had to do some quick rookie reshuffling in the old ranks after we find out where they get drafted because draft capital man even though it's not the sexiest thing we want to hang our hats on all the research we've done in February through April with that said man best predictor out there.

Yeah for sure and like so folks want to check out my rookie models which I've got one up for receivers I've got one up for running backs like the number one factor in both of them is draft capital and so I'm using grinding the mocks to basically you know project where I think they're going to go because of all the stuff that you just shared it absolutely is important and it makes sense right I mean if you think about it you know you're a team the more you invest in a player the more likely you are to stand behind them even if they fail right continue to give them additional chances.
