Summary

In this powerful episode, we sit down with a courageous couple, Adam and Becky Bradley, who share their honest and inspiring story of healing through the Pure Desire recovery process. From the moment they realized their need for help to the transformative experience of being in a Pure Desire group, they walk us through the highs, lows, and breakthroughs that marked their path. They reflect on the early days of struggle, the deep impact of community and accountability, and the life-changing shift that came when they truly began to receive the healing God had for them—both individually and as a couple. You'll hear how vital tools, timeless truths, and consistent support played a role in sustaining their recovery and how they are now offering that same gift to others. If you're longing for hope, wondering if real healing is possible, or looking for encouragement to take the next step, this episode is for you.

Today is episode 441 and joining me throughout this

0:23.4

gift of recovery series is the John Beggeman. John, good to see you again. How are you?

0:29.0

Thanks. Doing this series. It's been so much fun to have so many couples share powerful stories

0:35.2

of healing going like, wait, how did your story start there and end

0:38.9

there and getting to track with it has just been really sweet. Yeah, you know, throughout the course

0:43.6

of the podcast, we've probably done now 25 to 30, you know, basically testimony podcasts. And I think

0:51.5

every time I'm just always blown away that there's something unique and

0:54.7

special, even though there's a lot of commonality in people's stories, there's just something

0:58.9

about the way a couple talks about their healing, their marriage. Yeah, and I was really encouraged

1:04.1

by Adam and Becky today who've been walking this road now for 15 years. And are really at that

1:09.3

place that they're getting to see the fruit of paying their recovery forward and helping others. But it didn't come without a whole lot of hard work and pain early on in their story that people get to hear about today. Yeah, something I was so impressed by. There was a phrase that they mentioned just offhandedly. I just like, as you get into this episode, they mentioned getting into the well with people and I'm like man what a powerful phrase that idea of empathy of going I'm going to go there with you not just sympathy from a distance but going you know what like I'm going to get in the well with you I'm going to sit with you in your pain I'm willing to walk this out with you and another thought of just, they had been in groups and they took a

1:44.1

break and it seems like they jump back into leading groups and just so encouraged of like wherever

1:48.5

you might be. Like maybe groups were forever ago for you or maybe they're super recent, but just

1:53.4

there's the need is there. And it's just going, how do we want to participate? Or how do we want

1:58.6

to give the gift of recovery, whether that's leading or

2:01.1

generosity or to having a conversation with your pastor? There's so many ways, but just, yeah, really

2:06.0

encouraged by them today. Yeah, and looking at group not to say what's in it for me or do I need group

2:11.5

anymore, but them feeling like Adam uses this story at the end, so I'm kind of stealing his thunder,

2:16.3

but the idea of the man who

2:18.0

returned to Jesus to say thank you, and Adam's saying, that's what us leading group is.

2:23.4

It's just us saying, thank you, Lord, for the freedom you brought into our lives.
