Butts and cuts and, poops and... Hello friends welcome back to the hamel cast I'm Jillian and I'm wrapping up

my conversation with Lucas Babcock.

Lucas is currently touring with the Philip Company

as John Lawrence and Philip Hamilton.

In his first episode, Lucas talked about growing up in Chicago and San Francisco,

playing sports and doing choir as a hobby.

The plan was to study sociology and political science in college,

but before he finished high school, he realized he wanted to be a performer.

He minored in sociology as he studied musical theater at Emerson College,

and last week he talked about navigating being the new kid in that world.

Hamilton was the first musical he'd ever listen to, so while everyone else was

name-dropping shows and actors and composers and all these facts he didn't know about,

he was sitting there with his baseball knowledge

wondering if he made the right choice.

But here's the thing, when you're really good at what you do,

being the best at musical theater trivia doesn't matter.

When we left off last week, Lucas's career was off and running. He got to see

the world performing on a cruise ship and he talked about feeling seen on stage and a show that

mirrored some of his own life next to normal. So now we're at his Hamilton story and I'll let him take
