as we used to say in vaudeville. And what is more vaudeville than two podcasters talking about a film

festival? That's right. It is our annual Toronto International Film Festival Roundup. Both of us

had press passes to this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

Well, I get an industry pass, and the difference between a press pass is I don't get tickets

to regular showings. So I only see press screenings, basically.

Well, you should apply for, uh, who cares?

Yeah, I'm sorry. Who gives a shit? And that's going to be the theme of our episode, because

we're doing something a little

different in this year's tiff episode we made no effort to see anything that anyone cares about no not at all

we merely followed our interests whenever we had time to go now will this make people angry at the

opportunities that me and you have that we are not utilizing in this situation maybe yeah. Yeah. Okay. But here's what I would say to that. This whole episode will try to be an argument of why that like doesn't matter. That's right. We wanted to see. We want to live our politics. We want to support the things that we like. And I also want to say, okay, oh, all you guys want to go see Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, well, do you want to get up at 5.30 in the morning? Go downtown to get in line for 7 a.m. And you may not even get in. You may not even get in. So I was turned away from, I think, two screenings this year and both times like a weight off my shoulders. I was turned away from one and I felt kind of sad about it. But then also it was like, well, I'd already come all the way fucking downtown.
