Hello, my name is Justin McLue and I'm here today with Will Sloan, and it seems my co-host is Mr. Barry White.

My voice is a little deeper because my son got sick and I think he passed that sickness to me.

0:17.6

Isn't that nice you got to share something with your family?

But the show must go on,

0:21.7

as we used to say in vaudeville. And what is more vaudeville than two podcasters talking about a film

festival? That's right. It is our annual Toronto International Film Festival Roundup. Both of us

0:35.7

had press passes to this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

0:39.3

Well, I get an industry pass, and the difference between a press pass is I don't get tickets

0:43.4

to regular showings. So I only see press screenings, basically.

we're doing something a little

0:55.1

different in this year's tiff episode we made no effort to see anything that anyone cares about no not at all

1:01.2

opportunities that me and you have that we are not utilizing in this situation maybe yeah. Yeah. Okay. But here's what I would say to that. This whole episode will try to be an argument of why that like doesn't matter. That's right. We wanted to see. We want to live our politics. We want to support the things that we like. And I also want to say, okay, oh, all you guys want to go see Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, well, do you want to get up at 5.30 in the morning? So I didn't feel great about that.

1:49.2

But then it was like... People listening are like, boo. I know, I know. I know. But still, no, here's what I'd say. I realize that seeing a movie at a film festival, especially this film festival, is often not the ideal way to see a movie.

2:02.4

No.

2:02.9

It feels like going to the airport.

2:04.6
