Hello friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. My name is Carrie Green.

I'm so glad you're with me today. In the past few episodes of the morning

mindset we've been looking at songm chapter 23 and I invite you to

join the day today as we prepare our minds for the day ahead by looking at the

truth of God as it is communicating to us through Sol of Chapter 23.

You may think about two-thirds of the way through, and we are down to verse number five.

For David writes, you and the you he's speaking of here is God.

He says you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You enoyed my head with oil, my cup, overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow

me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Now let's go back to that

beginning phrase you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

That's kind of an interesting image if you think about it. Try and try and get your minds to think about what that would be like.

Okay, your enemies are surrounding you, they're all there, they are people who are opposed to you,

situations that are coming against you, and yet God has prepared a table for you, like a big dining room banquet table, full of food,

the places are set, the chairs are arranged around the table, and you have the opportunity to sit down and feast,

even though surrounded by enemies. That's a picture that's a little bit outside our

realm of comprehension in some ways because we think of enemies as a reason or a situation to be kind of uptight and stressed and on guard.

And of course we should be if there's a true enemy coming toward us, but David is painting a different sort of picture on purpose, because

he's wanting to show us how secure life is when we are walking in the presence of our God.

So much secure we can sit down and have it a meal.

In peace, in comfort, in safety, even though enemies are surrounding us.

The next phrase he says you anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
