Welcome back everyone to another edition of the Dungeon Master's Block, the place where we talk about, of course, the dungeon master's block, the place where we talk about, of course, the dungeon master, the most important person in the game, the only person capable of playing God, killing characters, and lowering the egos of all the other players at the table.

And I'm Dungeon Master Mitch.

And this week we are talking about dungeon mastering.

Of course. But what we're doing this week is a little bit different than we normally do. We're

talking about DMing the title of the show for dummies. We're trying to, if we had to think about

dungeon mastering and boil it down to the simplest things that we could think of, this is what we would be talking about. So as we go through, we'll be talking about some of the things that we do, what it means to Dungeon Master, how do I prepare, should I know all of the rules, things like that. We'll give you our insight on all of those things. And you'll hear some stories about things that have backfired on us in the past and some things that have worked really well and things that we've stuck to.

Yeah, we've had some people write in and say, hey, you give a lot of great ideas on what you can do with stories and monsters and everything.

But we're new DMs and we need some help.

And, you know, Chris, we've covered a lot of, help for new DMs throughout the show, but we just

are going to create this episode that hopefully will be a good. If you're a new DM, listen

this episode and it'll be a good. Here's how you DM. We're not going to get into rules.

We never really do. That's going to be something you're going to have to do on your own time,

but we will

give you advice for certain things. We'll go a little bit into a couple certain rules that'll

cover across almost all editions, but it's just going to be, this is our advice on how you
