Some murder cases are wrapped up within days. The killer is caught and the victim's family can have some closure, knowing justice has been brought at least to some extent. In other cases, the investigation drags on so long it adds to the tragedy.

This was the case with 14-year-old Alice Cross, who was found brutally murdered in West London,

England, and almost eight years later, no one has been arrested for her murder.

This is despite all the circumstantial evidence pointing to only one suspect, a suspect who

suicided only days after Alice's murder.

This is Alice's story.

The last two weeks have been completely heartbreaking.

There's not a moment of the day that you don't think about Alice and

where she is, what might have happened or why she might have gone missing. It's almost

impossible to describe what that pain feels like, but we just want her to know, please Alice,

if you're out there, come home. And if anyone has any information at all about her movements on that day

or about her whereabouts now,

I just really plead with them to come forward to the police

and get her home because that's where she belongs

and she needs to be here with us.

Alice Poppy Madeline Gross was born February 14th, Valentine's Day, 2000, to parents Rosalent

Hodgkiss and Jose Gross in London, England.

She grew up in Hanwell, West London, with her older sister, Nina, who was five years her senior.

By age 14, she had written several songs for voice,

violin and piano. Only weeks before her death in August 2014, she had performed in the

Battle of the Bands in Ealing, performing her favourite song, Don't Let It Go Away.
