The things that we do for children, the things that you're doing for your child, I haven't really done anything, but you are recording from your bathroom where you're sitting on the floor to make sure that you don't wake your

kid up. He doesn't like to sleep. So any opportunity I can get to not wake him up is just a good

chance. Good dad alert. It is quite a juxtaposition to be talking to one of the most

academically credentialed people I know from their bathroom floor, but hey, I'm here for it,

folks. Now, you recently wrote a book called Anti-Ssocial Language Teaching, English and the

pervasive pathology of whiteness. So I'm excited to promote your book and also just learn from it.

I think it fair to say, it was a little tough for me. I mean, it's definitely more academic flavored.

Is that fair to say?

You know, the funny thing is that academic books are so unreadable most of the time,

which I said several times in the book.

They set such a low standard for readability by putting any effort into readability at all.

My book stands out from academic books, but then I forget that it's still an academic book.

Like my aunt was reading it, and it was like taking her like two months to read.

And I was like, oh, no, because I didn't want that to happen.

But like, I forget that like when you compare yourself like these academic books, they cost like $90.

Right.

And no one's going to read them unless they have to for class.

Right.
