Today, what I want to talk about are a series of news items I saw that are all related,

dealing in the genre of panic porn.

And this is something I really can't stand because I am somebody who has struggled with

anxiety for a while.

I mean, you know me, I'm a prepper.

If you know I prepped for disasters, I prepped for crime or mishaps or accidents.

So I always have a little bit of an anxiety bug inside of me.

So I don't like it when news outlets promote dangers that don't actually exist for the

sake of clicks for the sake of getting attention for the sake of the old adage.

If it bleeds, it leads.

And so I just don't like that because people are already on edge as it is.

And the way the news media operates is they they created distorted sense of reality so

that people think that the world is more dangerous than it actually is.

And it's hard because that even gets inside of my head and I try to be rational about

it, but it's still burrows itself deep in your brain.

Like for example, you might think, oh, violent crime is at an all time high.

Actually, no, violent crime in the past like 40 years is at an all time low.

But you wouldn't know that because we have 24 hour cable news channels or thinking that
