Daniel lives in Japan and owns 10 rental properties in the United States.

But he started with a $30,000 salary, no savings, and reading the book, The Idiot's Guide to Getting Rich.

I still didn't really know how to analyze deals or anything like that, but I just trusted everybody.

All right. So Daniel, I can't wait to get into some of your real estate portfolio. The fact that you live in Japan and you own 10 rental properties in the United States,

I think that's pretty amazing. I want to dig into it. But you have a really interesting story

before you even got into real estate or

investing and you had a different journey. And I love to, can you take us back that way so people

get to know you a little bit better? Right out of high school, I actually joined the Marine Corps,

so not too far away from you in Paris Island. But I actually got injured in boot camp and I got an honorable medical discharge.

So I came out and I had to change tracks really quickly. So I went through, I went to massage therapy

school actually because I was interested in the injury rehabilitation and everything.

And it took me a long time to graduate university. I was doing a little

bit of this and that. I was a martial arts teacher for a number of years. That was something

I'd done since I was a kid, worked as a massage therapist. I finally graduated, I think it was

about 28 when I graduated with my first degree. And I always wanted to come to Japan, mainly because of the martial arts.
