On today's episode of LET THERE BE TALK my guest is the great Brent Hinds of Mastodon.

Brent and I Sat down for a talk backstage at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles recently and talked Motorcycles,Guitars,Songwriting and of course the new EP Cold Dark Place which is absolutely amazing.

Brent is one of the most original guitar players out there and also an incredible songwriter.

I wanna thank Mastodon over this last year for being so good to me and Let There Be Talk. It's an Honor to talk to these guys and I hope I can sit down with Troy next.

As I have said before over the last few years Mastodon has become one of my favorite Bands and I think they are only gonna keep getting bigger and bigger.

0:06.1	July 30th. It is Monday, man. How you doing? You feeling groovy, dude?
0:16.2	Coming from New York City today, just flew in from Montreal. I am trashed. I got to
0:24.6	tell you, man, I just got home from just for laughs. The Montreal Comedy Festival,
0:31.7	just for laughs. And I've been to a million, million events, big concert, festivals,
0:42.4	all kinds of things of that nature. And I have never seen something as cool as
0:50.7	the Just for laughs comedy festival. I'm still sitting here on my couch right now,
0:56.2	trying to take it in of what just went down. I've never seen anything like this.
1:04.1	It's basically the city of Montreal, downtown, for two weeks becomes completely
1:12.0	engulfed in comedy. And I knew comedy was big by Netflix and all that, but this is
1:20.0	beyond all that. Because this is before Netflix, this is before I was doing comedy.
1:27.5	I don't know, I don't know how many years I should have looked it up. I think it's
1:31.4	30 or something I heard, but I've never seen anything like this. And being in
1:37.4	the rock and roll world where I've gone to festivals that were two, three days.
1:43.3	And I thought we're big in an event like Coachella or Bonnaroo or any of that stuff.
1:52.9	It just pales in comparison. It's just insane. It's this whole downtown part of Montreal,
2:02.9	all the hotels, all the clubs, all the theaters, the streets, everything are engulfed in comedy.
2:12.8	And there's just a zillion fans there. I had no idea the magnitude of this festival.
2:20.7	I mean, I had heard about it for years. I was dying to go. I was dying to be part of it.
2:26.4	I had no idea that it was going to be what it was. It was beyond magical. And I still,
2:35.2	it's going to take weeks for me to get over how much fun I had.
2:40.7	And like everybody's describes it as a summer camp for comedians. It's pretty mind boggling,
