Today, the Bible Study podcast continues the study of the gospel of Matthew with chapter 11.

We are continuing on with chapter 11 today, starting in verse 20. Woe on unrepentant towns. Then Jesus began to denounce the

towns in which most of his miracles had been performed because they did not repent. Woe to you,

Corazon, woe to you Beth Saida,

for if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would

have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for

Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Copernum, will you be lifted up to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.

It's interesting.

This section comes right after Jesus gets the question from the disciples of John the Baptist,

as we talked about last week.

Are you the one or should we look for another?

It's interesting about Matthew.

Matthew has this tendency to talk about, and then next,

and then next, and then next, and then next, and tying these things together that this somehow

was related. Then Jesus began is how he starts this, that right after that other thing

happened, this thing happened. And he was talking about in that last section that the people couldn't be happy with John the Baptist nor with him.

Remember that John the Baptist, they said when he came not eating and drinking, he had a demon.

When Jesus came eating and drinking, they said he was a drunker and a friend of tax collectors and sinners.

And then he turns around and he says this.
