Summary

A story of a super-powered Russian hero fighting the evil, also super-powered villain known as Nightingale the Robber. Nightingale can fly, kill with a scream, and lives in the shadows of his forest. The journey will take our hero from home, through multiple stays with Baba Yaga(s), and finally into a confrontation with the legendary bandit on a quest to become the man he never thought he could be. The creature this week is sweaty, hairy, and naked...and the only way you can beat it is by wrestling it. This week, we'll get back in Slavic folklore. So in the same tradition of all the Ivens,

1:00.7

Koshay the Deathless, or Kashi as I wasn't really saying correctly, and Baba Yaga, who's

1:05.8

actually pronounced Baba Yaga, which from now on I'll say that, but I didn't want to

1:09.8

mess it up for the intro.

1:11.1

Anyway, we're back there with the story of Ilya Moromitz, and the Nightingale Robert. Ilya

1:16.1

is one of the most famous bogateeer, basically like a knight. I don't want to give

1:19.8

away too much, so I'm just going to jump right into the story. This is set in the Middle

1:23.5

Ages, and I would date this story around 1000 AD. It's set in modern day Russia and Ukraine.

1:29.4

Though when this story took place, nothing like the modern nation states of Russia or

1:33.2

Ukraine existed. I'll put a map on the discussion post, approximating Ilya's journey.
