Summary

Alexis Hasbrouck (a swing on the North American tour of Hamilton) is back for round two! This week Alexis talks about joining Hamilton's well established tour which was equal parts incredible and terrifying, and explains how her brain processes all the details a swing needs to know. You'll also hear about the once in a lifetime trip she and some casemates took to Alaska where they saw all kinds of wildlife, kayaked by a glacier in a torrential downpour, and most importantly THEY WENT DOGSLEDDING! And speaking of dogs, on this podcast we *do* talk about Bruno (Alexis's adorable rescue pup). Plus, Alexis takes questions from the Patreon Peeps and talks more about tour life and the people who inspire her.

lyrical, absolutely everything.

Last week, Alexis talked about the musical theater program at Rider University, which she loved,

and taking a year off to do cats on the Royal Caribbean Oasis cruise ship.

By the time Alexis was ready to finish her last semester, COVID hit, and her whole college experience, including the

big senior showcase, moved online.

She rounded out her time at Ryder by taking virtual classes and learning how to do self-tapes,

1:01.2

which was actually incredibly valuable and while

Alexis waited for the entertainment industry to open back up she found her

1:06.4

second true love teaching elementary school special education which she hopes to

1:10.8

return to someday. When everything reopened, Alexis went back to Katz,

1:14.0

but unfortunately, the conditions on the cruise ship

1:17.0

were not good for her, in any sense.

1:19.0

Putting her mental and physical health first,

1:21.0

Alexis made the decision to leave that contract

1:23.4

when she booked the national tour of Mulan Rouge. And because when it rains

1:26.4

it pours, that's also when Hamilton started reaching out. And they started reaching out

1:30.1

a lot. Alexis loved being on tour with Muan Rouge and obviously she couldn't
