Welcome back then to the third and final of our prial of episodes on the more cultural aspects

of the Republic, an age not of Puritan misery and darkness, but of extraordinary creative

energy. We've talked about the protector and his court,

and found that art and music was in not, in fact, banished. We talked about the return of boom

time to London and the arrival of coffee culture. We talked about some royalists and how they

responded. Now it's time to turn philosophical, and we will start with political philosophy.
