And it's Cinco de Mayo, which is a very special day here in Southern California,

and especially just to the south of us in Mexico. Because Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of

the victory of the Battle of Puebla in 1862, in which Mexico kind of definitively freed itself

from European influence. But we're going to talk about Mexico for Cinco de Mayo, but we're not

going to really talk about Cinco de Mayo. We're going to talk about later history. What happened

to the Catholic Church in the 20th century in Mexico? Here's Chris Check to talk about that witness.

See. Oh, very good. Okay. We're going to talk a little bit about

Trabienne. Cinco de Mayo gives us the opportunity to talk about Mexico.

It does. Cinco de Mayo, however, is not what we're going to discuss. That's the Battle of

Puebla. It is 1862. Victory over the French, which we'll talk about that next year.

Okay. We'll do that next year. But since we're with the opposite, one thing that's kind of the

last gas. It's not actually Mexican independence. Some people confuse it with Mexican independence.

It's not, but it is sort of the last gas of effort of European rule in Mexico, yeah, Mexico.

Really? Abraham Lincoln was, I think, yeah, I think we're just 1862. He was on the side of

the French. No, no, no, on the Mexicans. No, no, no. It was not in the interest of Americans

to have a European power. Oh, I see. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, well, another reason to like Abraham

Lincoln or not. Yes. And the thing is Abraham Lincoln gives you lots of reasons to like him and
