Hello pod, I'm Chris Hewitt and welcome to the Empire Podcast. No bombastic intro

this week. It will become apparent very very quickly why. But this week I am joined by

three colleagues of such lethal cunning Helena Harrah. Hello James Dyer. Hello and a

man warm. Hello. How are you all? Good. Good thank you. Yeah. Good. Excellent. I always have to start

with the tricky questions. I wanted to really take you back. But before we begin and the reason

there is no bombass this week is I wanted to take time out to talk about and dedicate this podcast to

Seb Patrick who died this week at the age of just 37. Seb was many things he was a writer for all

kinds of outlets including I'm proud to say Empire. He was a podcaster with the likes of cinematic

universe and Mifflinfinity his excellent office rewatch pod under his belt and he was a huge huge

huge geek with encyclopedic knowledge about all kinds of subjects from comic books to red dwarf

from doctor who he interviewed Tom Baker for the mag and I'll never forget how happy he was to do that

even if he didn't get a word in edgeways to Liverpool football club from Formula One to films.

His knowledge was prodigious but he never wore it in a smug fashion. He was kind. He was generous.

He was gracious and so I only met him once in person. We interacted virtually every day on Twitter

and I regarded him as a friend. His sudden death at the weekend absolutely floored me

and not least because of all the things it said was first and foremost he was a loving husband

to Joe and a doding father to Lewis. Told you he was a comic book fan. Seb's passing has left

a huge hole in many communities and many lives but none greater than in his family's hearts.

And this week the outpouring of love and affection for him on Twitter and across other social media

platforms has been incredible and nowhere has that been effectively more shown than the

go fund me that was set up by one of his friends Ian Symes to help Joe and Lewis in immediate

aftermath and beyond. It's already at an incredible 26,000 pounds and counting but that money
