You could argue that there is no such thing as good relationships without patience.

You could also argue that one of the key character qualities of the biblical story is patience.

It always amazes me when I read through the Bible again the amount of time between the fall of Adam and Eve and the coming of Jesus.

If I'd have been on the joystick, Adam and Eve would have fallen in the morning.

Jesus would have come that afternoon. It would have been taken care of.

This quick story, because I don't like to wait.

But why the wait?

Because every situation, every location, every circumstance,

judge after judge, king after king, city after city,

motion after motion was all the steps necessary

to get the world to the exact right moment when Jesus would come.

That length of time is a picture of the incalculable patience of God.

You see, healthy relationships are about patience,

people are different than you.

They're gonna have different views of things.

They're gonna have different ways of doing things.

They're gonna have different responses to life than you have. They're gonna have different values than doing things. They're going to have different responses to life than you have.
