And so this show is just me sharing the tips and tricks around creativity that helped me do that in my life and in my creative practice.

I don't know about you, but when I was starting as a creator, when I went to school for illustration and design or even when I got out, I always felt this pressure and impulse to make my work more personal.

I always longed to make the kind of creative work that made people feel something that when you had an encounter with it, it really moved you on a deep level, but I didn't know how to do that at all.

And even the people that were around me that were kind of encouraging me to go a step further in my work in terms of making it personal or have more rich metaphors or symbols.

I don't feel like they were handing me tools on how to do it. It just seemed like this very abstract concept.

Like, find yourself and I often joke that I went to school and was like, hey, I need to find my style and my teacher was kind of like, find your style.

Your style finds you if you're lucky and not kind of abstract approach to the creative journey was just not useful.

And so I became obsessed with finding tools that and exercises that were clear that maybe didn't work every time or weren't magic.

But if you put in the time, eventually you would kind of unearth some of the magic within you.

And this episode is a conversation that I had with podcaster Michael Philip, who has a podcast called Third Eye Drops.
