are vocal, some involve head movements, others look like rapid twitches. Tick Disorders are

most often seen in children. They co-occur with conditions like ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and mood

disorders. Treatment isn't always necessary. Doctors may suggest a wait-and-see approach

for milder symptoms. For children with ticks that affect daily living, treatment can help

decrease the severity and frequency of symptoms. In today's webinar, we'll learn about the

different types of tick disorders, including Tourette's disorder. We'll discuss co-occurring

shouldn't do. Leading today's presentation is Dr. John Piassantini. Dr. Piassantini is

a board-certified clinical child and adolescent psychologist and professor in the UCLA Department

of Psychiatry and Bio-Behavioral Sciences. He directs the UCLA Child OCD, anxiety, and

tick disorders clinic and Tourette Association Center of Excellence, which provide diagnostic

evaluation and treatment for children and teens with these conditions. He also directs

the UCLA Center for Child Anxiety, Resilience, Education, and Support, which provides education

and programming to parents, teachers, and clinicians about anxiety prevention and management.

Dr. Piassantini's research focuses on the development and testing of effective treatments
