Summary

Cathy, Kirsten, and I are back for book club and this time we read Gerald’s Game by Stephen King. The story follows a woman who ends up handcuffed to a bed after her husband suddenly dies, leaving her completely alone with her thoughts and memories. We break down what we liked, what didn’t work for us, and whether this book holds up decades after it was first published. We also talk about listening to the audiobook versus reading the book, Stephen King’s writing style, and some of the bigger themes in the story. So I find it really interesting that no one reads the book,

0:20.1

but they listen to us talk to a book. Well, half the time we don't talk about the book though. We just sort of... Yeah, but we talk enough about it that you can understand and decide whether you want to read it on your own after or not. Yeah. I guess so. Or like the Cliff Notes version. Yeah, maybe people are kind of like, oh, I'm a Kathy. Kathy hated this, therefore I will not read it.
