In the media there's always been this axiom that goes like this if it bleeds it leads

Meaning the most sensational story will end up on the home page, but in the past few years it's really shifted and the new

thesis is that the more radical the viewpoint, the more reach it'll get, the more radical

the more reach.

That means extreme groups are screaming it out online daily and

while collectively these groups all combined they represent the minority fringe they get the

majority of our bandwidth they get the majority of the airtime. So you've got

alt-right xenophobes, you have extreme left terrorists, you have all meat eaters,

fruitarians, violent vegans, QAnon followers. They're all rolled up into

these ideological groups trying to convince you

that they possess the real truth. So who holds the real answers? Well nobody does, right?

True revelation is never at the extremes. The truth always lives in the murky middle. It's a place

that's filled with phrases like, yes, but, and in my situation, dot, dot, dot, the truth is filled with nuance it's filled with

compromise it requires that we all embrace a certain degree of ignorance on this

all around the strict ideology of veganism he has since torn it down and he's lost

pretty much everything it's an important discussion to make because I think many of us are holding on to ideologies and an ideology is an ideal.

It's not real. It's not possible. It's not realistic. and in many cases identity politics, ideologies, isms,

dogma, belief systems, they keep us from working together. They polarize communities,

countries, they keep us from making progress and affecting

real change that can really unite people as a people.

I think it's an important discussion.
