apologetics. But sometimes there's resistance to the discipline of apologetics from other

Christians. Why is that? Today I'm going to talk with a special guest about why Christians

should study apologetics. Or as we might say, it's an apologetic for apologetics.

My guest today is Tim Barnett. Tim works with the Ministry Stan Theresa as a speaker and

teacher who does a good bit of traveling, giving easy to follow and visually engaging presentations

that train Christians to think clearly about what they believe and why they believe it. So Tim,

welcome to the podcast. Hey Alisa, thanks for having me on your show. Well, it's I wanted to have

you on for a while. So I'm really glad that we finally worked it out. We did a lot of emailing

back and forth trying to figure out a good time and all that. So I'm so glad to have you on.

Because we're going to talk about apologetics. Something we're both pretty passionate about.

It's it's may seem like just a basic thing for people who are following our ministries,

like we're going to talk about apologetics. But there are so many misunderstandings about what

apologetics is, I think. And it seems like a lot of people just don't really grasp what it is.

Some people think it's some kind of indoctrination or just a set a list of beliefs that you just have

to believe this. And that's what apologetics is. So just before we dive in, give us a definition.

What is apologetics in reality? Sure. I think it's because of the word apologetics. It sounds like

Christian apologists are those guys that go around saying, I'm so sorry. I'm a Christian.

You know, it has that kind of apologizing. People think that I usually joke and say, no, we make

other people sorry. We're Christians. And we don't do that either. Right? We don't do that.

Apologetics, strictly speaking, is a branch of theology that's concerned with giving reasons

or a defense for the Christian faith. Okay. And so that's what we do. I tell people look at there's
