When I was a little girl, I loved going to school and learning.

0:12.6

And of course, school isn't always fun, but I really, really loved reading at home and doing my own little projects at home and creating stories and all sorts of

0:23.2

things that I now do for a living. I find it absolutely heartbreaking that so many girls around the

0:28.6

world don't get the same opportunity. Did you know that 40% of girls globally don't finish

0:34.9

secondary school? For millions of girls, poverty, war and discrimination

donating. Want to know how you can support? Search Plan International UK to find out how you can

help, because nothing changes the odds for a girl like an education does. This episode of The Guilty Feminist is brought to you by Ancestry.

As many of you may know, I'm adopted, and some years ago, I found my biological family.

1:53.9

Now, I did it the old-fashioned way with Facebook and Pinterest searches, but my very first

clue was through ancestry.

Now, this is a whole other level now.

Ancestry DNA offers a whole new approach to discovering the unique combination of ethnicities

that make up your genetic heritage.
