Family Recipe Excerpt:
A cool breeze ruffled the curtains in the living room. The windows had been opened wide to welcome in the fresh afternoon air. It was late summer, and the days were still warm and long. But the evenings were growing cooler than before, and darkness came earlier and earlier with each passing week. Soon it would be autumn.
Sitting in his favorite chair in the living room, Joe barely noticed the breeze, or anything else really. He was reading one of his favorite books and was completely engrossed in the story and the characters. Joe loved to read. Books brought him on adventures where he met wonderful people and animals. Books showed him fantastic places and taught him new things about himself and others. Joe sighed happily as he turned each page of his book, lost in the world of the story. Time slipped by unnoticed.
