Poots and... Hello everyone I'm Jillian and welcome back to the Hamel cast. Today I'm

wrapping up my three episodes with the wonderful Billy

Nevers. Billy is currently on the road with the UK Ireland Company of Hamilton playing Lafayette

Jefferson. He's also in the very rare position of being a principal who covers another principal.

He's the second standby for

Aaron Burr, which is pretty unprecedented. Billy grew up in London in a very

theatrical family, so he was surrounded by it from a super young age.

Music was always on, he was always going to see shows, his mom is a drama teacher, his talent and passion were undeniably there.

But Billy learned early on about the gatekeeping people of color have to deal with when trying to break into this industry.

Billy was able to get a scholarship but even when he was at

school he was more often than not the only person of color in his year. And as we

know, not having people of color in the room really informed what he was and

wasn't learning about. In his first two episodes Billy walked us through his

already very prolific career, Jesus Christ Superstar and Juliet, Legally Blonde, and

now Hamilton. We're gonna kick off this episode with the Patriot peeps, but

before we get into it I just want to say and this

will make sense later I have since started the traders and I get it now I'm I'm in I'm in a

100% I'm watching every season UK US Australia whatever I'm watching it all and I've come to the conclusion that I would be

hands down the worst traitor on earth. Like I'd be banished on the first night. I'd be terrible.
