Summary

Conference preview season, and we're starting off on a patriotic note: it's the American preview! The league struggled last year, finishing just 11th at KenPom, and only Memphis made the NCAA Tournament (and quickly bowed out). Is that a new trend for the conference? Or was it a one-year aberration with a bounceback on the way?

Matt is in the wind, so Ky and Jim discuss the overall landscape of the conference before breaking it down team by team. We talk favorites, the mushy middle, and several hot seat candidates, among other topics.

0:34.7	out of, he's gone. Matt's traveling. So it's just Jim and Kai today, but we're pumped to talk to the American. You're Memphis's. You're South Florida's, you're Tulsa's, your Tulans. Kai, how are you? Are you ready to get into true preview season after last week's mid-major extravaganza? Yes, Jim, I am. Per usual, we have no idea where Matt went. He just tells us he's not going to be able to do the pod, and then we find out he's actually not even in town. We think he's on the West Coast, judging by his messages. So we wish Matthew a lot of fun wherever he is, wherever he may be in this world. Yeah, that's Matt's a mystery man, even to us. It's very fun not knowing where our cohort is.
1:11.3	And it's great when he blesses us with his presence. Today we don't get it. Unfortunately, but that's all right. We have got a lot to say on the American. It is episode 414, Kai. We're racking them up. We got a quick roots round up for the people. Not a lot of news this time of year. it's basically the most dead part of the college basketball calendar before we get into preseason hype machine.
