Summary
The problem with having high expectations going into the season is that just one half of football can make a fan believe that it was all a mirage. Were we drinking the Kool-Aid in the offseason or was Sean McVay and Matt Stafford take advantage of a Week 1 opportunity against Seattle? Time will tell. In the meantime, we explore the Seahawks defensive woes and the lack of an effective pass rush. Both tackles went down to injury and were a big reason for the offensive struggles in the second half. We discuss some things the offense could have done differently against the Rams defense.
Injuries will continue to have an impact on the offensive line in Week 2 as 20-year veteran Jason Peters was signed to the practice squad this week. Abe Lucas was moved to injured reserve and will have to miss the next four games at a minimum. Will Charles Cross be next to the IR or can the team somehow manage his foot injury. Looking ahead to the game against the Lions we talk about what has to turn for the Seahawks to bounce back from their disappointing Week 1 performance.
In the second half of the show, we talk about one game on the schedule that is guaranteed to help the Seahawks in the NFC West standings, even if we can't decide who to cheer for. Adam offers his bold predictions for the outcome of Week 1 games. The NFL quarterbacks who got paid this offseason need to do better and so do the fans who immediately start calling for Pete Carroll's job after one game. Better at life honors go out to a helpful gameday gadget and to a former Seahawks running back.
