| 0:00.0 | Imagine a world, Jonathan, and I've, you and I probably can't even imagine this. |
| 0:03.8 | Imagine a world in which everything we want to do we should do. |
| 0:07.4 | And everything we should do is something completely desirable and fulfilling to us. |
| 0:11.9 | I can't even live an hour like that here in this fallen world. |
| 0:17.2 | But that's what we were made for. |
| 0:19.9 | But as the story tells us, when the monster, the serpent |

| 1:15.1 | wanted to do is different from what they ought to do. And that rupture is so traumatic, |
| 1:20.6 | so fundamentally disintegrating to us as humans, that we keep replaying that over and over again in our own lives psychologically |
| 1:30.0 | and morally. And then we keep telling that story over and over again, which is why I think |
| 1:35.9 | every story is divided along that fracture of duty and desire. |
| 1:44.0 | Music This is Jonathan Peugeot. She's involved in education. |
| 2:11.6 | She's also a podcaster. She recently published a book called The Divided Soul. And I know she sent me the book and I looked over, |
