Summary

It's incredible how empowering it can be to bring in different perspectives to our decision making process. When we ask questions, do research, trust ourselves, consult with multiple authorities, and make decisions from there, then we can truly feel secure in our choices, regardless of the outcome. That's what we dive into on today’s podcast with Africa Brooke: a mindset coach, business consultant, podcaster, and speaker, who specializes in helping people overcome what is commonly known as self-sabotage.  This conversation covers  woke culture (and toxic forms of it), self-censorship, cancel culture, and so much more. They also dive into Africa's journey to sobriety, and how she developed self-responsibility from that. This episode is a reminder that we live in a world of endless creativity. If we cut off that creativity by putting ourselves into a shameful mindset, or preventing ourselves from moving away from our past, we're doing a disservice to ourselves and to the world. Africa encourages us to stay open-minded, take what works for us, and create our own opinion. We also talk about: How sobriety has led to radical responsibility Why being offended robs you of your power The moral superiority trap Fighting the pull to join the cancel culture mob How people are leveraging language Being wary of self-censorship Moving towards being solution-oriented instead of problem-oriented Cultivating confidence within yourself Find more to love at almost30.com! 1:05.1

open conversations that you know expand our minds and really just provide us with different

1:11.3

perspectives. That's that's really what we're here to do. Yeah that's truly what we're here to do

1:15.1

1:21.0

perspectives. There's not a lot of space for different perspectives and are intention with

1:26.9

the conversation that we're going to be having today with our new friend Africa Brook is that

1:31.6

is to bring in different perspectives is to empower us really to do our own research to trust

1:39.2

ourselves to question and then make decisions from there and you know I just have a lot of

1:46.1

I have a lot of compassion for all of us like living during this time where social media and the

1:52.7

media is a huge part of our daily lives were on it every single day a lot of us have our livelihoods

2:00.4

on social media and so how can we not be necessarily influenced or swayed or affected by whether

2:08.9

it's like mob mentality or other things it's almost impossible not to be affected by it in some
