We're kicking off today's show with some exciting news that's actually been probably about five years in the making.

Today we're announcing a partnership with the crew at Florence Marine X.

So why is this a partnership rather than me just reading ad copy from a sponsor and why would I say that it's exciting?

Well, the reason is we've been discussing this relationship for years.

I've actually seen Florence Marine X develop since pre.

It's inception, if you can believe that.

In January of 2017, I received my first email from a Hurley staffer.

And it just came through as a fan email, but it evolved into an

open dialogue. I got to know some of the people within the Hurley organization, and they would

kind of provide me with backstory or context for things that we were discussing on air, or they might

give me insights into what some of their athletes were up to on tour.

Anyway, after the corporate disbanding, some of the key players there, including the Hurley family

themselves, coalesced around John John and the idea that he had for creating outdoor adventure

gear to accommodate his lifestyle. So again, we kind of continued this

open dialogue for how we might include what they were doing into the conversations that we were

having here on the podcast, because ultimately, even though our work is very different, we really

felt like we were all kind of doing the same thing, just going surfing

and then talking about it, essentially. So that's really the concept behind this partnership.

John John has a film coming out next month, which I would be talking about anyways.
