Summary

We continue our analysis of Scott Peterson’s behavior before and after Laci Peterson went missing on Christmas Eve 2002. We discuss the book “For Laci” that Laci’s mother, Sharon Rocha wrote which gives a lot of insight about that time. Sharon specifically writes about Laci’s pregnancy and Scott’s disinterest bordering on avoidance of becoming a new father. Laura and Jim explain the risk factors that pregnant women face from their intimate partners.

When Lacey went missing, did you fear the worst? I did because

0:16.4

hindsight always, you know, is much easier but as I look back at it, I realized

0:21.7

when he had called me and asked if Lacey was at my house and told me that when he got home,

0:30.7

the car was in the driveway and McKenzie, the dog, was in the backyard of the Salation and Lacey was missing.

0:37.7

I remember when he said missing, I remember thinking to myself, missing. What do you mean missing? You know, that's not a word to use.

0:45.7

You say, using not home.

0:46.7

Right, or I can't find right, I don't know where she is. It's odd how you remember certain things, but I can remember feeling a little irritated.

0:56.7

Hearing him say that, but I thought, you know, she's not missing. She said a friend's house or someplace around.

1:03.7

And that's what I told him, you know, check with her friends. I'm sure she's with somebody.

1:09.7

But looking back and I realized that I was the first person he called, the only person he called to begin with,

1:15.7

and he was already telling me that she was missing instead of checking with the hospital.

2:30.7

Really invaded my spirit, actually, Lacey Peterson and Connor Peterson.

2:34.7

And I think it's because of having had Raffi and been pregnant so recently that I just find this case so troubling and disturbing that I've been researching and listening to everything I possibly can and reading all the Amber Fry and Scott Peterson transcripts of those phone calls and trying to understand the case as best as possible. But it's so disturbing as a case.

2:59.7

Especially now that it's a holiday time, you know, you're reading about Lacey's life and the run up to her disappearance and murder.
