This is the Baimal Podcast with Marty Solomon. I'm his co-host Brent Billings. Today we

revisit the two sources comprising the sportion of the biblical narrative, analyzing the agendas

we find in each. We will attempt to look at the differences between the sources, to understand

the reign of Solomon and the split of the nation of God's people, ultimately helping

us figure out what went wrong.

Yeah, because we've got two different sources for this story, and each source has a different

take on what went wrong. Two sources, one story. Two sources, one story, one story, two

sources, or, as I'll often just say, two stories. But you understand what I mean. We've got

one portion of history, the Saul, David, Solomon, and King's portion. We reviewed last time.

We're leaving that in the dust. We're just going to jump in right where we left off in

our last podcast, jump into a presentation branch.

In fact, we will. So you've got a presentation, and if you're in a spot where you can pull

it up, go ahead and do that. We're just going to jump into the first slide to see there.

And that first slide should be right where we left off and it should provide just enough

review to remind us of what we were talking about. So remember, we had one portion of history.

I call it the United Kingdom of Israel. There was a time where we had one king and one

kingdom, Saul, David, Sha'ul, David, Shlomo, like that name. It's a good name. I've heard

it before I feel like. Person, it's a personal favorite of mine.

We got Sha'ul, David, and Shlomo, and then the rest of the Malachim were the kings.

And same period of history, but we got two different takes. And if you remember, we said,

well, you tell me, Brent, what did we say? Samuel and kings was written from whose perspective?

From Israel's perspective.
