Summary

In the early morning hours on March 2015, a California couple Denise Huskins & her boyfriend Aaron Quinn awoke to an intruder standing over their bed in a wetsuit.

Denise was kidnapped and taken hostage for 48 hours. Unexpectedly, the intruder dropped her off in Huntington Beach, CA.

Upon her return, police didn't believe Denise & Aarons account of the crime. Shockingly, the accused them of making the entire thing up. A hoax, like the plot of 'Gone Girl'

But months later, another similar home invasion in California would flip the entire case on its head

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and is gearing up for the new year, the big 2023. It has been so cold where I live,

0:32.1

so I've been hunkered down, keeping warm with my doggies. I'm also excited to announce the podcast is going to have a new

0:39.9

segment at the end of every episode. We're doing Ask Aves. That's me. I'm Aves. I get a lot of

0:47.0

questions from you all and I try my best to answer them on Instagram and YouTube, TikTok,

0:51.5

but this way I can answer a few of your questions every week at the end of the

0:55.9

episodes. You can send in those burning questions to the email and the show notes. I just like

1:02.9

talking with you guys. So ask me anything. Cases, haunting, story times, personal questions. I'm here to

1:09.9

answer it all. So stay tuned for that coming up

1:12.5

at the end of today's episode. And if you haven't already, I'd be real grateful. If you left a

1:18.1

nice little rating and review on Apple Podcasts, it helps a lot, so thank you all. Now, today's

1:24.6

story is a real case that captivated viewers because, frankly, it's bizarre.

1:29.8

It's commonly known as the Gone Girl case.

1:32.7

We're talking about the kidnapping of Denise Huskins, a Vallejo, California woman, who was abducted under very strange circumstances in 2015.

1:42.2

Denise, along with her boyfriend at the time, Aaron Quinn, awoke one night

1:46.6

to an intruder standing over their bed, and from there, it's a story stranger than fiction.

1:52.6

The details of this case are insane, and it reads like the plot of a thriller movie. So let's go back

2:00.1

to the start. In 2015, Aaron Quinn 30 and Denise

2:04.4

Huskins, 29, both lived in Vallejo, California, and both worked as physical therapists. The two

2:10.7

had only just met seven months before all this went down, and they met on a group outing with some

2:16.0

other physical therapists.

2:20.4

The two were reportedly just drawn to each other.
