Hello, this is Jonathan Agnew bringing you another classic

view from the boundary from Test Match Special.

Over the years I've been fortunate enough to work with some of the great sports broadcasters

Jim Maxwell, Brian Johnson, Chris Wannand Jenkins, Richard Beno to name but a few.

The delight of a view from the boundaries is that we get the chance to speak to so many

talented people from all walks of life, including commentators from many other sports.

One of those was the late great Sid Waddell, the voice of darts for so many years.

In 2005, Sid joined Simon Mann at his local ground in Durham as England took on Bangladesh

in a series that preceded that famous Ashes contest.

Well, I thought I was coming out of the luxury Simon but, Sue Farr, I've seen a few

magic sausage rolls, Christopher Martin Jenkins' butler, bringing it in the claret and I'm

sitting up on this lovely castle side between two Hosea, your marine, your local likes,

and three Spice Girls in drag.

I'm going to great morning, actually.
