Summary

Sometimes, PlayStation's userbase gets upset over nothing, and this past week was a great example of that. Rumors and uninformed conjecture rapidly circulated about Sony unleashing a stringent DRM regimen on PlayStation that would force players to check-in with the PSN every 30 days, or lose their digital licenses. That (of course) was complete nonsense, obviously so -- Sony is instead attempting to throttle dishonest people from taking advantage of a quirk in their refund system -- but it didn't stop many talking points from taking hold. And really, isn't it Sony's fault, ultimately? All they had to do was communicate, good or bad. But they didn't, and so the ne'er-do-wells filled the vacuum. Then again, maybe players should be a little more mad at the actual villains: The losers and degenerates who take advantage of loopholes, steal games, and pirate anything they can get their hands on. We discuss at length. Plus: MLB: The Show Mobile slowly expands around the world, Rebel Wolves' extremely promising vampire title The Dawn of Bloodwalker gets a release date, classic NickToon Rugrats gets a games compilation, Star Wars comes to PowerWash Simulator 2, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! With Xbox's incessant will they/won't they going on, should we expect Microsoft-published games to continue to come to PS5? Is ARC Raiders and The Finals developer Embark guilty of overtuning their titles? What are the origins of "friendslop"-style games? Is Colin's wife quietly attempting to protect him from complete embarrassment by refusing to allow him to participate in the 100 Chicken Nugget Challenge? This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. My name is Colin Moriarty.

0:25.1

I'm joined, as always, by my son, Chris Raygon.

0:26.6

He's looking pretty cool today.

0:28.5

I got to be honest with those glasses on.

0:29.7

What's going on with that?

0:30.9

It's literally just screens, man.

0:35.1

Yeah.

0:35.7

This is a lot of screens all the time.

0:37.8

I'm editing our show again.

0:40.6

The Star Tank.

0:41.7

So I've been in front of the computer a lot more.

0:45.0

And I just got to...

0:47.1

This is the solution until I get like the blue light filter normal kind of prescription

0:51.7

lenses that I would normally get, which I'm going to be doing

0:54.7

probably like this week or the next week. Because like my, I feel like most people don't

0:59.1

understand what it's like to get glasses at this insane prescription. Because I'm like minus

1:02.6

minus nine to minus 10 to minus 11. Like you're wearing like, you're wearing like a telescope.

1:07.6

Basically. Yeah. The lenses are stupid thick. But that means basically like a lot of people can go in get an eye exam. Yeah. The lenses are stupid thick, but that means basically, like a lot of people can go in, get an eye exam, and then they usually have most of the lenses there for you. If you're like minus, like point two or something, they'll be able to get you in the same day. For mine, it's like they got a place in order for the glass. So it takes some time. I remember this specifically because there was a time where my glasses broke completely. And I had to like wander to like a lens crafters completely blind. And then I was like, yeah, so this is my prescription or whatever. Can you can you do it? You're like, yeah, it'll be about a week. I'm like, okay, cool. Cool, cool. Very, very awesome. I mean, it makes sense. But, yeah, this is the solution until then, you know, it's got to be. It'll be very cool. Thank you. Reminds me my old roommate Christine Stimer in San Francisco. She used to wear the glass. I don't know if they still exist anymore. Dustin, you might know better than me. The gunners. You know what those are? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I used to make fun of her so much because she would play like, she'd play like MMO RPGs with these orange glasses on and be like, it would actually like irrationally annoy me where I'm like,

2:18.9

why are you wearing those? You know, like stop doing it. But this is much cooler than those.
