Leviticus chapter 22, verse 20, you shall not offer anything that has a blemish,

0:13.2

for it will not be acceptable for you.

0:17.9

Now, we've seen this already in Leviticus, the necessity of bringing an offering that did not have a

0:24.5

blemish that was the best that was pure and holy and there were there were various reasons behind that

0:31.6

what I am drawn to in this particular verse though is not just that the offering shall not have a

0:39.3

blemish, but the word that God uses after that when he says, it will not be acceptable for you.

0:46.3

And basically, Leviticus 2220 is emphasizing something that we see all throughout Leviticus,

0:51.7

but is worth mentioning at this point. God is prescribing

0:57.4

what is acceptable before him all throughout this book. What's acceptable. And God defines,

1:07.4

God determines what's an acceptable offering and what's not an acceptable offering.

1:13.0

Man doesn't determine that. You and I, men and women, do not determine what is an acceptable offering

1:18.9

before God. God determines that. That's why he's given us this whole book of Leviticus.

1:23.7

Really, in a sense, that's why he's given us the whole Bible because we don't come up with what

1:30.1

we think is acceptable pleasing honoring to God that's not our job God has shown us he's given us

1:39.8

in his word that which is acceptable now which is pleasing and honoring to him.

1:44.8

And it's our responsibility to do that which he has said, that which he has defined,

1:51.5

that which he has determined is acceptable.

1:54.1

This is why we must be in the word daily.

2:00.4

Why we must in a Psalm 1 kind of sense meditate on his word day and night

2:05.5

in a Deuteronomy 4, 5 and 6 kind of sense. We've got to put his word everywhere, talk about it all the

2:12.4

time because God has told us how we're to live. God has told us how we're to worship him. God has told us how we're to live. God has told us how we're to worship him.
